Helmack was first established as a partnership on the 1st of September 1973.  The two partners were Mr M Hellewell and Mr A  McCormick.  This partnership was dissolved in1976 and a Limited Liability Company formed with both partners having 50% shareholding.  For the next three years  the partnership designed and built trailers, horse floats, farm equipment and carried out general engineering work.

In 1979 Allan McCormick purchased M Hellewell's shares and together with his wife Diane, both being Directors, continue the company as it is today.

Larger truck decks, curtain sider's and tip decks, trailers, dog motels and horse floats are still designed and manufactured today.
